It makes the days especially long, doesn't it? But, as you've noted, our Lord works even through our children to remind us that He is with us, He has endured it all, and that His plan for us is perfect and best, even when our children are terrified by candles and the wind is whistling outside. Praying for Christ's peace and compassion for you this winter and always!Adrianehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02576262191436609354noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1924256360174115907.post-8894048419573598042016-12-08T10:17:05.854-06:002016-12-08T10:17:05.854-06:00Thank you so much for reading! Was that an announ..."Two small children". Was that an announcement? Did I miss an earlier one?

I've got two small children this year and it makes Christmas simply delightful. I suffer from seasonal affective disorder, which often makes Christmas not live up to my expectations of it (since I don't have the energy to do everything I wish I could); but seeing things through my little ones' eyes makes everything bright. The six month old mesmerized by the lights as he lays underneath the tree. The two year old delighted to discover her reflection in the tree baubles. Retelling the Christmas story daily (or more often) with picture books or the crocheted nativity or both. And the reminder, when I forget, that we need "Candles. Sing." even though she acts as if she's terrified of the Advent candles when they actually are lit. I worried before this year that the SAD would mean I wouldn't be able to make Christmas as special for my children as my mom did for me - but now I realize that it's childhood itself that makes Christmas so special for children. I need only to embrace it. bekahcubedhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11449654823418176968noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1924256360174115907.post-15495001938214976162016-12-06T08:35:33.032-06:002016-12-06T08:35:33.032-06:00Thank you......I pray your sweet Blog continues! ...Thank you......I pray your sweet Blog continues!
